Days of exhibition
An enchanted world in which light and color merge, giving rise to fascinating symbologies and vivid representations of reality.
The project "Uzbekistan: the Avant-Garde in the Desert ‘ divided into two venues - Palazzo Pitti in Florence and Ca’ Foscari Esposizioni in Venice - tells about one of the most interesting avant-garde movements of the 20th century, the Uzbek one, characterized by an extremely unique and original art.
The exhibitions, promoted and supported by the Uzbekistan Culture Foundation and curated by Silvia Burini and Giuseppe Barbieri, host more than 150 masterpieces including paintings on canvas and on paper accompanied by textile artifacts, from the National Museum in Tashkent and the Savitsky Museum in Nukus, which succeeded in synthesizing Western and Eastern influences that followed one another over the centuries.
