Days of exhibition

The exhibition "Titian and the Venetian Renaissance from the Uffizi" displays for the first time at the Hong Kong Museum of Art 50 works by the great masters of the Venetian school, first of all Titian, Tintoretto, Giorgione, Veronese, Palma il Vecchio and the Bassano. An exhibition on the Venetian Renaissance that gathers prestigious loans from the Uffizi Galleries in Florence and important poles of the Regional Directorate of Museums of Tuscany, made possible thanks to the support of the Hong Kong Jockey Club and the collaboration with the Consulate General of Italy in Hong Kong and The Italian Cultural Institute of Hong Kong.

Titian's masterpieces on display also include Flora, one of the most extraordinary paintings from the artist's early stage, Venus and Cupid with a Dog and Partridge, along with Tintoretto's Venus, Cupid and Vulcan and The Miracle of the Slave by Tintoretto, the latter being exhibited for the first time after a remarkable restoration.

Alongside the great masters of the Venetian school, artists from the more inland areas of the Veneto region are also on display, in order to show how far-reaching Titian's influence was and what impact his innovative painting technique had on his contemporaries.
