A Kaleidoscope of Art Treasures from the 16th to the 20th century
More than 300 precious jewels, accessories, and collectibles are showcased at the Chengdu Museum celebrating a universal passion for elegance and beauty. The exhibition features works from the 16th to the 20th century, sourced from significant Chinese and international collections.
Also on display are six evening dresses from the Atelier Annamode. Founded in the 1940s by the Allegri sisters, Annamode's creations were highly prized both by the Italian Haute Couture and the Neorealist filmmakers in Cinecittà. The original pieces, dating back to the 1920s, 1930s, and 1950s, are part of the Annamode Foundation's archive, which supports the Atelier in promoting fashion, costume, high craftsmanship and Made in Italy.
The exhibition Splendor in Myriads: a Kaleidoscope of Art Treasures from the 18th to the 20th Century brings together jewellery, clothes, and accessories from around the world, creating a dialogue with Chinese artefacts. It highlights the connections and cultural exchanges between China and the West over four centuries.
