The exhibition features a selection of masterpieces from Tzar Peter the Great’s collection, borrowed from the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg. Alongside the golden Shiite objects, the exhibition displays the spectacular gold artifacts from Filippovka’s necropolis discovered in 1990 in Southern Russia. The latter included intricately crafted golden statuettes that represent the only existing trace of a civilisation that disappeared from existence in the 3rd century. The exhibition marks the first and last time that these pieces will be displayed in Italy. The exhibition is curated by Ermanno Arslan.
