Days of exhibition
The exhibition consists of new and existing works by Jean Fabre: visual artist, creator of theatre and Belgian author. The visual journey winds through archaeological sites, places of worship, monuments and the libraries of Agrigento and Monreale. Curated by Joanna De Vos and Melania Rossi, in continuous dialogue with the artist, the project is part of the “Manifesta 12 / CollateralEvents” and happens within the official programme of Palermo Italian Capital of Culture 2018. The exhibition features over fifty works created between 1982 and 2016 by Jean Fabre: a series of drawings in pencil and pen; sculptures in different materials, from wax to bronze; performance videos and mosaics made with precious, iridescent beetle armour. The artist also presents two new works, specifically designed for this occasion: Schandeübers Ganze Erdenreich! and Searching Oracle Stones.
