Days of exhibition
The body of 64 works exhibited consists of 24 paintings from the Pushkin, including Bucentaur's return to the pier by the Palazzo Ducale by Canaletto, and 40 works selected from the extensive heritage of the Municipal Museums of Vicenza. The Madonna with saints by Giambattista Tiepolo, from Moscow, is displayed in Palazzo Leoni Montanari in dialogue with the Bank's 18th century Venetian collection, including the famous paintings by Pietro Longhi. Curated by Victoria Markova, Head of the Department of Italian Culture at the Pushkin Museum, with Stefano Zuffi, art historian, the exhibition is an important moment for the works in the Palazzo Chiericati collection, which are exhibited after more than a decade. The route depicts the development of eighteenth century Venetian art, its explosive impact on European art, and the protagonists of the time -- from Tiepolo to Pittoni, from Carlevarijs to Piazzetta, from Canaletto to Guardi and Longhi.
