An unprecedented presentation of Caravaggio’s work with 24 paintings by the artist on display. Conceived by Claudio Strinati and curated by Rossella Vodret and Francesco Buranelli, the exhibition includes exceptional works like Boy with a Basket of Fruit (one of Caravaggio’s most important early works) and Bacchus from the Uffizi. These two works have never been directly compared before. Another notable loan is the Basket of Fruit from the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, which had never traveled before. The exhibition is a tribute to Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio during the 400th anniversary of his death, and is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see over half of his production together.
