One hundred years of Italian Fashion and Costume
The exhibition "Beauty Changes. One hundred years of Italian Fashion and Costume" traces the birth and evolution of Italian Fashion and Made in Italy, narrating the process of transformation of the feminine ideal and the importance of the role of women, both as protagonists and as muses, in the unique, artistic, and artisanal dimension of Italian creativity.
With more than one hundred artworks, including authentic dresses, textile samples, opera and film costumes from the archives of prestigious Lenders such as Atelier Farani, Archivio Giorgini e Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, original sketches from the Galleria Nazionale di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Roma, video and photographic archives from RaiTeche, Cinecittà e Fashion Channel, the exhibition offers the opportunity to admire masterpieces by the Masters of Italian Fashion. Creations by Roberto Capucci, Maria Monaci Gallenga, Sorelle Fontana, Emilio Schubert, Irene Galitzine, Renato Balestra, Emilio Pucci, Valentino Garavani, Giorgio Armani, Danilo Donati and Sylvio Giardina enter into dialogue in the exhibition space of the historic building at Bund 33 in Shanghai.
