Days of exhibition

The exhibition is curated by Jean Michel Bouhours, curator of Modern Art at the Centre Pompidou, and presents nearly 100 works. 70 of these are a generous loan from the Centre Pompidou, Paris, and the remaining 30 are loans from the principal private and public collections that hold the work of Amedeo Modigliani in Italy and abroad. The exhibition is composed of two exhibitions in one. The first is dedicated to Modigliani in the strictest sense, the second to the artists of la Bohème. The narrative will present the extraordinary cultural atmosphere created by the École de Paris around the central figure of Modigliani. This current was represented by a group of artists that were active after the First World War, and who gathered in Montmartre and Montparnasse in the shared desire to experience Paris and its arts to the utmost. These artists, in complete symbiosis between art and life, include Brancusi, Soutine, Utrillo, Chagall, Gris, Marcousiss, Survage and Picasso.
